Project Mgr/ Manager of Operations Projects and Implementation

This role is to provide a proactive project management and day-to-day management of tasks to successfully deploy & implement agreed solutions ensuring compliance with business mandated processes. Projects include (but are not limited to): new business implementations; organic growth projects; site consolidations /

migrations; Operations remediations projects; Warehouse Management System (WMS) migrations /

implementations; automation implementations; and other large logistics projects as required.


The role is to adhere CLDM process for new business implementation. Practical guidance and recommendations are to be provided to project team members to improve project execution disciplines and deliverables.


Ensure all projects are managed to incorporate strong project disciplines incorporating to:

- Scope and Scope Change management

- Schedule management

- Resource & project team management

- Budget and procurement management

- Risk management

- Quality management

- Stakeholder and communication management


Operations improvement projects also require root cause analysis, solutioning and scoping based upon the

incumbent’s and their team’s Operations experience. Data, evidence-based solutions and sound Operations

decision making are to underpin these projects and drive pro-active process improvement to deliver

strengthened Operations and commercial performance of targeted sites. Support business functions are to

be appropriately leveraged to deliver necessary enhancements and outcomes. All elements are to be

considered including but not limited to: People and structure; systems and digitization opportunities; process

and material flow, layout, equipment and automation opportunities.


Training


Continuously trained and updated to ensure new knowledge of business process and management skill to improve and enhance business implementation including (but not limited to): project management disciplines; hard & soft skills; leadership; financial and commercial management; Operations; Technology.


Training shall be aligned both to the individual’s personal development needs and business needs.


Requirements

  • Managing all aspects of various complex logistics projects from initiation to closure, including but not limited to initiation, planning, execution, testing, training, go-live, hand-over and closure, taking over solution from EA/SD for new and existing businesses
  • Relevant warehouse operation project experience is essential with strong in-depth knowledge of warehouse solution and supply chain network design; able to validate solution(s) feasibility against customer requirements
  • Lead Project team of cross functional and implement it seamlessly, through delivery and stabilization
  • including final solution/ proposal, UAT, stress test and etc.
  • Lead internal and external solution workshop in ensuring most efficient and optimized operation
  • Review existing and new operations for opportunities to apply IT/Software enhancement to
  • optimize resource efficiency
  • Lead project team in the transition of warehouse inventory & warehouse relocation activities.
  • Project management of workshop issue logs and implementation of customer’s agreed final solution/initiatives.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders re status reporting, including escalation of recommendations to the project Sponsor or Steering Group on issues that required intervention / action
  • Ensure project expenditure is within approved IA
  • A hands-on approach, comfortable to navigate ambiguities and manage priorities, able to multi-task and work under time pressure
  • Develop and execute detailed project plans and schedules to ensure all implementation phases are mapped, interdependencies identified, risks managed and delivered on time and within budget
  • To assist where necessary to assist operations on post go-live for a defined duration
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the logistics, 3PL and supply chain industry across various market segments (e.g. electronics, healthcare, consumer & retail, automotive, etc)
  • Strong analytical skills with good commercial & technical understanding in the context of a 3PL environment
  • Possess strong persuasive skills when presenting proposed solution(s) to customers (when necessary)
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics and Supply Chain, Business Management or relevant technical field
  • Project Management certification (PMP , PRINCE2 or other). Lean/Six Sigma methodologies (Green or Black Belt) are an advantage and proficienct in Microsoft Office and Project
  • Full proficiency in spoken and written English a requirement; other Asian language(s) are beneficial



• Self-starter with positive attitude to overcome problems effectively and able to work under own

initiative with minimal supervision and work closely with workstream owners on changes where

required


• Team player who is self-driven individual with high degree of professional integrity
