Position Overview:

The Software and Applications Manager provides support for the operation and maintenance of specific software applications, which may be built in-house or third-party software. Must have a deep understanding of the application's functionality and backend. Oversee software testing, transition processes, and interact with the application users and setting up, and on boarding of the users. Responsible for full management of a team and is proficient in applications development, monitoring tools and techniques required by the organization. Possess great critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems, passionate about analyzing and resolving problems and addressing technical challenges and strong interpersonal skills and with familiarity in relevant software platforms on which the solutions are deployed.


Job Duties:

  • Oversee the acquisition and development of software systems in organisational units.
  • Develop applications based on the design specifications; encompassing coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and reviewing and/or refining it across the application development stages in accordance with defined standards for development and security.
  • Lead large-scale or business-critical application development projects and explore the incorporation of analytics and advanced capabilities to enhance the application.
  • Monitor the results and quality of the different software solutions and projects implemented in the organisation.
  • Establish problem management strategies, protocols, and mechanisms to guide the prevention, resolution and minimisation of problems and their effects.
  • Oversee the development of Proof-of-Concept/ solutions and provide technical expertise on the development of software and platform features, ensuring that appropriate security and risk factors are considered.
  • Configure software products and apply scripts and automation tools to integrate and deploy software releases to various platforms and operating environments.
  • Assess and test the overall effectiveness and performance of an application, involving the setting up of suitable testing conditions, definition of test cases and/or technical criteria.
  • Establish systems to discover critical processes and maximise these processes to achieve maximum efficiency in accordance with organisation procedures.
  • Develop and implement a cohesive end-to-end customer journey and experience to engage a population of customers with changing profiles, demands and buying patterns.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in any of these fields: Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming & Systems Analysis, or Science (Computer Studies)
  • Minimum total three (3) years’ work experience in system development projects for BFSI clients, with involvement in software and application management activities.
  • Deep understanding of software applications: must have an in-depth knowledge of software applications used, including their functionality and backend infrastructure.
  • Software development: Proficiency in software development is essential.
  • Software Configuration: ability to configure software products and platforms to meet organizational requirements.
  • Application monitoring: Skills in monitoring tools and techniques to oversee performance and quality of software solutions.
  • Security knowledge: Understanding of security best practices and risk factors associated with software and applications.
  • Scripting and automation: proficiency in using scripts and automation tools for software integration and deployment.
  • Having a minimum of 3 years of project experience with a major BFSI client in Japan is highly desirable.
  • Advanced proficiency in English and Japanese to support Japanese-speaking clients.
