Purpose of the Role
The Engineer, Planning is to review notifications raised by Operations, convert maintenance orders and plan labor & material required to execute the order in the appropriate Turnaround (TAR). She/he will also be responsible for developing plans and schedule for upcoming outage(s). She/he may also be required to support our Maintenance Department in planning routine work. She/he will be involved in SAP Database maintenance, budget reviews and reporting.
Job Description
- Facilitate execution of the TAR milestone schedules – (scoping process, planning, scheduling and engineering)
- Plan major Jobs with assistance and direction of a member of the Maintenance Department and develop critical paths if required.
- Schedule and facilitate routine TAR coordination/schedule meetings with Operations, Plant Maintenance, Technical services, Capital project, and Turnaround organization.
- Provides a complete package for successful execution of maintenance or TAR work at minimum cost.
- Create scope of work, estimate and plan craft hours and crew for each job step.
- Estimate accurately the cost of work orders or outage and monthly cost reporting.
- Daily review of all maintenance work orders and material reservation, and to ensure that materials are received prior to scheduling the job, while maintaining safety stock for critical materials
- Maintain right status of work orders, update maintenance orders status as jobs are workable or unworkable, percentage completion, estimated completion date, and resources required for scheuled job scopes.
- Attend meetings and responsible for making the weekly and daily work schedules, conduct daily maintenance scheduling conference call.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators and field progress during outages and updates or develop new work schedules.
- Maintain work order and equipment history file and responsible for checking and ensures data is entered. Ensures accuracy of all related computerized maintenance system (SAP_PM) data files
- Involved in managing the all issued minor maintenance work orders and plans/schedules work within SAP
- Performance & Asset Management from within SAP – Metrics & PM Master Data Management.
- Prepare minor CAPEX and One-pager justification for management approval.
Requirement:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years’ of maintenance experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry or Diploma holder with 10 years’ maintenance experience Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry preferred.
- Experience in at least two plant outages of over 150,000 labor hours.
- Experience in a Gas Plant such as Gasification/SMR/ASU is an advantage.
- Good conceptual knowledge on planning and maintenance of all Rotating Equipment such as Steam Turbine, Centrifugal Compressors, Reciprocating Compressors, Screw Compressors, Multistage Pumps etc.
- Good conceptual knowledge on planning and maintenance of static equipment ie. Boilers, pressure vessels, pipes, tanks, valves, safety valves.
- Basic knowledge of Industrial standards such as API, ASME etc for Rotating and Static Equipment.
- Versatile and flexible team person with conflict /problem solving skills.
- Strong leadership and organization abilities.
- Advanced knowledge of SAP Enterprise Asset Management system
- Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management system
