POSITION: Assistant Cook

Job Description :

Assist the Cook/ Chef in day-to -day operations of the kitchen. The main duties include but not limited to:

1. Assisting the Cook/Chef in food preparation activities such as cleaning, cutting, chopping and peeling food ingredients.
2. Cleaning and sanitising the food preparation areas based on company and industry hygiene codes and health and safety standards.
3. Washing, disinfecting and properly storing cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment .
4. Buying, weighing and storing ingredients and food supplies.
5. Operating a variety of kitchen appliances and instruments including cutters, knives, mixers and ovens.
6. Managing inventory, unloading supplies and organising the store room.
7. Ad hoc instructions deemed necessary to perform daily work activity

Job Requirements:

1. Certification in Basic Food Hygiene would be an added advantage.
2. At least 1 year of relevant experience.
3. Can speak and understand English.
4. Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks.
5. Self- motivated and self-directed.
