RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position is for Office of Admissions and Financial Assistance (OAFA).
  • Manage and administer OAFA’s annual summer immersion programme for high school students:
    • Partnering with units across SMU on programme delivery and content.
    • Sourcing for, and liaising with, external vendors on programme delivery.
    • Managing the selections and offer process.
    • Communicating with international participants and their guardians.
    • Marketing and publicising the summer programme.
    • Managing all necessary logistics and operations involved.
    • Post-programme follow-up to regularly engage and nurture students towards the undergraduate application stage of the funnel.
  • Serve as the main liaison officer on admissions and outreach matters with the College of Integrative Studies (CIS).
  • Arranging admissions and scholarships interviews across CIS and the other 6 Schools who co-interview with CIS, as well as liaising with partner schools to arrange learning journeys and school visits related to CIS.
  • Handle admissions matters:
    • Reviewing each application individually to verify the authenticity and accuracy of applicants’ high school results and other relevant details.
    • Setting up and hosting virtual Zoom sessions for CIS faculty members to conduct applicant interviews.
    • Communicating with applicants of their scholarships outcomes,interview dates/times.
    • Handling applicants’ requests to change programme / appeal their admissions decision.
    • Updating of applications on SMU’s applications portal.
    • Handling applicants’ queries.
  • Support CIS’ admissions events for offerees and scholar recipients, by helping out with event management and support duties.
  • Support admissions outreach efforts, social media efforts and signature events as part of the undergraduate admissions team, to share about CIS, answer queries, and help market the new College to prospective students and parents.
  • Serve as the main liaison officer on admissions and outreach matters for the Adult Learners’ Scheme.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A university degree in any qualification.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Meticulous, with strong administrative skills and the ability to multi-task across different projects.
  • Highly proficient with Office tools such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Highly proficient with technology tools such as Zoom, and willing to learn new systems
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to respond to different types of personalities across different age groups
  • Ability to work on some weekends, if there are interviews or events on Saturdays.
  • Fluency in Mandarin would be an added advantage.
