School Support Assistant (Student Well-Being)


The Services required are set out as follows:

1. The Support Assistant shall report to the school’s HOD Student Management and SH Student Well-Being.


2. The job scope includes the following:

- Support and supervise the After-School Engagement (ASE) programmes for identified students.

This includes, but is not limited to:

a. Mondays 2.30pm - 4pm - Academic Mentoring

b. Fridays 2pm - 4.30pm - Vendor-run programmes

- Engage the students during recess, lunch and after-school hours daily through mentoring and free play to build rapport.

- Work with form teachers and subject teachers closely to understand the students’ profile and needs

- Monitor student attendance in the ASE programmes and document observations as teacher feedback.

- Provide academic support as part of re-integration for students returning to school after long-term absences during curriculum hours.

- Other duties

a. Any other duties assigned by School Leaders, HOD Student Management, SH Student Well-Being or Administration/ Operations/ ICT Managers.

b. Support Operations Manager in the cleaning of classrooms and facilities used for ASE programmes (e.g. cleaning cupboards etc., if required)


The Personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

a) Strong interpersonal and communication skills

b) Minimum qualification of Diploma in any of the following areas or related fields: Counseling, Social Work

c) Preferably with at least one year experience working or volunteering with children or youths would be an advantage

d) Passion and disposition to work with at-risk students

e) Empathy for students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties

f) Have good interpersonal skills and works well with others

g) Possess good working attitude and be willing to learn, not afraid to take up new challenges

h) Preferably staying in the Woodlands, Admiralty or Marsiling area

i) Able to work overtime (i.e. beyond usual working hours) on ad-hoc basis if required. This may entail reporting as early as 6.45am or staying beyond 5pm on some days due to school needs.

j) MOE Instructor registration is COMPULSORY


Schedule:

Monday - 8:30am - 5:30pm

Tuesday - 8:30am - 5:30pm

Wednesday - 8:30am - 5:30pm

Thursday - 8:30am - 5:30pm

Friday - 8:30am - 5pm

Total hours per week - 42 hours (with 0.5 hour lunch break)


Salary range: $1600-$2400 (depends on experience)
