Financial Analyst

TCC Group is a family-owned enterprise founded in 1917 with roots in the shipping business. The Group has recently diversified into non-shipping investments and has a demonstrated track record in real estate investments. TCC is now looking to grow into financial products/alternative investments. TCC Group is a flat organization and consists of colleagues from a multitude of nationalities and cultures. The candidate will have the opportunity to dialogue with Senior Management and understand how different functions within the organization work together towards a common goal.


Position overview:

We are looking for an Analyst to join the Financial Planning Division to join the Group’s Singapore office. The candidate is motivated by a challenge and seeks a hands-on role in helping to build up the Group’s investments portfolio. The investments portfolio consists of both financial products and alternative investments. Financial investments would encompass fixed income instruments, public equities, private equity, and venture capital. Alternative investments include private equity and venture capital. The Analyst will also evaluate the Group’s real assets in the Shipping and Real Estate businesses from an investment angle.


The Analyst will-

• Work closely primarily with CIO and frequently collaborate with colleagues across functions in investment due diligence, valuation, and transaction execution.

• Manage existing investment portfolios and advise on reinvestment strategies.

• Provide analysis on Shipping projects with a focus the return on projects on a portfolio level with consideration to factors such as optimal capital structure and macro market outlook.

• Provide a comprehensive overview of the Group’s overall investment performance and recommend on capital allocation in view of macroeconomic outlook and relevant current events

• Stay abreast of business trends and economic indicators, and extrapolate their implications to the Group’s prospective and existing investments.


Desirable candidate:

• Intellectually curious and strong drive and discipline to transform ideas into actions.

• Outstanding oral communication skills with the ability to articulate and distil complex information to key internal stakeholders in a clear, concise manner.

• Solid analytical skills to discuss implications of numbers and data.

• Strong verbal and written to make recommendations from conclusions drawn from quantitative analyses.

• Strong ability to multi-task on different projects at the same time.

• Highly fluent in Excel and comfortable with creating financial models.


Qualifications:

• Strong academic background (Bachelor of Arts of Bachelor of Science)

• Engaged with current events and reads widely across disciplines

• Demonstrated history of excellence in prior endeavours

• CFA or progress towards a CFA charter is a plus
