Sustainability Senior Manager, CSI, AP

Customer Solutions and Innovation (CSI) is a DHL's cross divisional commercial and innovation unit. We manage DHL's largest and most strategic customers. In a very competitive market, CSI work with our Business Divisions and provide value beyond what the customers expect, building stronger ties with Customer key decision makers. We focus on understanding our customer business and industry challenges and applying proven DHL solutions.


Role Purpose:

  • Shape and Manage Sustainability related CSI Customers' activities - in CSI and Cross-Divisionally:
  • Support initial customer requests on Sustainability, drive in-depth requests/discussions, Facilitate the Sales of GoGreen Plus Product Portfolio.
  • Internally leverage expertise and train people as needed.
  • Support deployment of selected strategic global topics, making adjustments for regional nuances to sustainability agenda for practical execution e.g. triggered by regional legistlation or trends.
  • Key stakeholders of the role are: the CSI Sustainability Global Team, Regional Sales Teams, Regional GoGreen Leaders in the division, Regional Innovation Center, Customers.

1. Expertise on ESG and Carbon Emission

  • Build initial knowledge about ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) Framework and Carbon Emission related internal and external developments:
  • Understand DHL Group Division's different Green Product and Solution Offerings, Features, Operating Models and stay up to date
  • Understand DHL Group Corporate Activities in all fields of ESG
  • Understand External Frameworks and development around ESG, Carbon Reporting, Offsetting, Insetting, and latest legislative developments, etc.
  • Facilitate collaboration with internal regional experts

2. Customer Engagement & Sales

  • Qualify and Categorize initial Customer requests around ESG (Request for Information, Request for Quotation, Request for joint solution design, ...) - especially Cross-divisionally
  • Join Customer Calls and workshops to facilitate conversation, steer decisions towards Sales of Green Product portfolio, and contribute with expertise
  • Redirect to other sources of information if appropriate (Webinars, Material, ...)
  • Engage relevant subject matter experts across divisions as third level of support if needed
  • Leverage the Regional Innovation Center facility and team for customer workshops
  • Understand Possibilities and Limitations of Current BU offerings
  • Cross-divisional coordination to offer customers a comprehensive XBU Green solution portfolio which meets their specific requirements

3. Training

  • Train CSI Teams, especially Sectors, Commercial Operations and Innovation Center Engagement Teams as per separately defined Sustainability training framework
  • Content includes but is not limited to: DHL Group Sustainability Strategy & Roadmap, Green Product & Solution Portfolio, Qualifying Customer Requests regarding Sustainability, Handling Carbon Reporting Requests, Case Studies, How to Sell Green Products, Use of Central Content Repository, Regulation and Legislation
  • Document Case Studies and achieved Best practices

4. Strategy, Projects & Stakeholder Management

  • Support Global to drive Regional Strategic Projects around Sustainability (e.g. Content Ownership for Era-of-Sustainability related events, Commercialization of Sustainability, 2030 Customer Roadmap Tool, Circularity & Packaging, ...)
  • Close engagement with Regional Divisional GoGreen Representative on operational and strategic matters
  • Join external events and speak about sustainability on behalf of DHL Group as applicable

Education / Qualification / Certification / Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge in the field of sustainability as well as the current DHL Group's roadmap and green product portfolio
  • Passion for Sustainability
  • Working experience in multiple DHL Group divisions is a plus
  • Confident in working with customers face to face
  • Ability to facilitate discussions towards compromises and decisions
  • Strong willingness to learn
