Merchandise Planner, South Asia & Pacific

Reporting to the Senior Merchandise Planning Manager, South Asia & Pacific, you will be responsible for the planning and analysis expertise to meet sales objectives, optimal inventory turn, and achieve high sell-through.


You will control merchandise management according to target figures, merchandise planning and Open-To-Buy (OTB) management. You will also need to provide analytical support to the buyers to ensure a balanced and profitable assortment.


Key Accountabilities

  • Planning and submission of the annual budget, seasonal merchandise financial plans and forecasts
  • Prepare merchandise plans by channels by typology to support the Corporate team in generating OTB Plans to be used in the development of merchandise strategies for the season and to support buying needs
  • Monitor OTB budget and communicate change to Merchandising Manager and Buyers
  • Establish and maintain a crucial relationship between the Corporate planner and the Regional buyers to ensure a more accurate forecast in line with the sales potential of each market and a timely decision-making process for managing OTB / orders and monitoring the stock.
  • Assist and collaborate with Corporate and buyer on seasonal pricing alignment and competitors' price positioning study.
  • Utilize information systems to provide essential analysis to support the merchandising plans and sales projections.
  • Prepare business reports. Highlight any opportunities or shortfalls and make recommendations for future needs
  • Prepare standard weekly/monthly merchandise management reports and fulfil ad hoc information requests like data analysis as needed
  • Develop simulation templates to cater to planning needs

Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Economics, Finance/Accounting, Mathematics or Statistics desired
  • 3 to 5 years of OTB planning experience preferred; experience in accounting function or inventory control in the retail industry is an advantage
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of retail inventory and financial measures (Sell-through, Weeks of Supply, Inventory Turn, Markdowns, OTB, etc)
  • Detailed oriented, high accuracy, good numeric sense, and highly efficient way of working
  • Proficient in MS Office and must be strong in Excel
  • Good communication, collaboration, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Organized, self-motivated and an energetic team player
