Responsibilities:
• Serve as the point of contact for all matters related to the Quality Management System (QMS) as stipulated by API Q1, API Q2, and ISO 9001.
• Develop, revise and maintain comprehensive quality manuals, procedures, workflows and KPIs that encompass the entire lifecycle of offshore crane systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that quality documentation accurately reflects current processes and best practices.
• Oversee the continuous improvement of the QMS, incorporating changes driven by regulatory updates, industry best practices and internal feedback.
• Ensure the QMS remains current and aligned with API Q1, API Q2 and ISO 9001 standards by conducting regular reviews and updates.
• Coordinate and lead both internal and external audits of the QMS to assess its effectiveness and compliance.
• Prepare documentation, facilitate audit activities and address any findings or recommendations identified during audits.
• Organize and conduct regular management reviews to evaluate the performance of the QMS against established objectives and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior management and collaborate on strategic decisions.
• Stay current with updates to API Q1, API Q2 and ISO 9001 standards, ensuring that the QMS remains in alignment with the latest requirements.
• Interpret regulatory changes and communicate their implications to relevant teams, guiding the necessary adjustments to procedures and practices.
• Provide training to personnel across the organization on the principles and practices outlined in the QMS documentation.
• Foster a culture of quality awareness and commitment to compliance within the team and stake holders.
• Manage the documentation lifecycle, including creation, revision, approval, distribution and archiving of quality-related documents.
• Ensure version control and accessibility of documents for authorized personnel.
• Lead investigations into non-conformities, incidents and deviations from established procedures to identify root causes.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans to address issues and prevent recurrence.
• Generate and maintain performance metrics and KPIs to monitor the effectiveness of the QMS and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare comprehensive reports for management that highlight key quality trends, achievements and areas requiring attention.
• Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, maintenance and operational teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated into every phase of offshore crane system projects.
• Ensure compliance to relevant government regulations and company’s quality, safety, health and environmental (QSHE) policies, practices and procedures at all times.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• In-depth understanding of offshore crane systems, their components and relevant industry standards, particularly API standards such as API Q1, API Q2 and ISO 9001.
• At least 3 years’ experience in quality assurance and quality management roles, preferably in the maritime, oil and gas, or heavy machinery sectors.
• Strong familiarity with developing and maintaining quality manuals, procedures, workflows, and KPIs in alignment with industry standards.
• Experience with API Q1 and API Q2 requirements, including internal and external audits, management reviews and compliance verification.
• In-depth knowledge of API Q1, API Q2, and ISO 9001 standards, and the ability to interpret and apply these standards within the context of offshore crane systems.
• Proficiency in planning, coordinating and conducting internal and external audits to evaluate compliance and system effectiveness.
• Skilled in root cause analysis techniques to identify the underlying causes of non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex technical information, presenting findings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail in creating and managing comprehensive documentations, reports and metrics related to QMS.
• Proficiency in documentation software and tolls.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools for document management, data analysis, and reporting.
• Experience in providing training and educational sessions to team members on quality assurance principles, QMS processes, and compliance requirements.
• Willingness to adapt to evolving industry standards and regulations, ensuring that the QMS remains up-to-date and compliant.
