The Senior Instrument Commissioning Technician would be required to perform a variety of commissioning, troubleshooting and repair of various instrumentation including, but not limited to, calibration of input sensors such as temperature, flow, level and pressure transducers, analyzers, fire & gas devices and other monitoring equipment.
To demonstrate a full understanding of all applicable policies and work methods associated with assigned duties to commission and maintain instrumentation equipment and to perform other duties as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate clearly and precisely and follow oral and written instructions.
- Understand the need for and adherence to the Permit to Work and Lock-Out Tag-Out Procedures.
- Understand and follow safe working practices.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Be instrumental in the preparation, lodgment and implementation of all relevant Permits.
- Be directly responsible for the preparation, planning and execution of the daily commissioning activities.
- Co-ordinate the technicians activities.
- Install, inspect, calibrate, commission, maintain and troubleshoot Control Instrumentation, Fire & Gas and other monitoring equipment from the field to the end device.
- Pre-commission and commission Remote I/O panels, including input and output loops, device functionality, the control network between field and control room including HMI’s and C&E testing.
- Pre-commission and commission motor control signals between MCC’s and ICSS.
- Verification of data transfer through serial link interfaces between packaged equipment and ICSS.
- Understand, interpret, and work from various forms of project drawings such as P&ID’s, BLD’s, Wiring Diagrams, IO Lists etc.
- Complete all relevant project documentation including knowledge of CMS, Mechanical Completion and Pre-Commissioning checksheets (ITR’s).
- Have a sound knowledge in the function and use of the various test equipment to perform the above tasks.
- Have a sound understanding of certified equipment and hazardous areas.
- Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow workers and vendors.
- Assist in providing training for less experienced personnel.
- Good timekeeping practices
Requirements
- Must have more than 10 years of working experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Has commissioning experience of more than 3 FPSO / FSO projects.
- Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering or in any other relevant engineering qualification
- Must have strong commissioning experience in Instrumentation.
- Must have hands-on experience on the following:
1. Level Transmitters (Radar, Radiometric, Capacitance, tuning Fork, Diaphragm Seal, Displacer)
2. Flow Transmitters Equipment
3. Pressure and Temperature Transmitters.
4. Communication Systems - PROFIBUS, Optical Fiber, MODBUS, and Ethernet Systems.
5. PLC- PLC (Model: SIEMENS SIMATIC S7).
6. Commissioning and troubleshooting electrical feeders - ABB, VACON, Siemens and etc
