Job Responsibilities:
Objective:
- To automate and orchestrate IT infrastructure and operations.
- Needs to create, manage, and deploy Salt States, which are declarative descriptions of the desired configuration and behavior of systems.
- Using Salt Cloud, which is a tool for provisioning and managing cloud instances, and Salt Reactor, which is a system for triggering actions based on events.
Key responsibilities and tasks associated with the role:
- Perform tasks on remote hosts and manage configuration files using Salt modules.
- Create and execute Salt States to define the state of the systems.
- Use Pillar data and variables to customize the automation logic and data.
- Use Jinja templating and YAML syntax to write Salt States.
- Use Salt Cloud to create and manage cloud instances using cloud profiles and maps.
- Use Salt Reactor to implement event-driven automation and orchestration.
- Troubleshoot and optimize the performance, scalability, reliability, and security of the SaltStack environment and applications.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge in SaltStack concepts and terminology
- Preferably experience in SaltStack & Salt Cloud installation and configuration
- Experience in remote execution and modules, state creation and execution, pillar data and variables
- Knowledge in Jinja templating and YAML syntax
- Experience in Cloud profiles and maps, Salt Reactor installation and configuration
- Event-driven automation and orchestration
- Basic Networking, hypervisor and storage knowledge
