Our client is a renowned global F&B chain with speciality in tea beverages. With strong presence in SEA and APAC, the business runs several retail outlets in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and China. They also promote a strong tea-drinking culture and innovation to create a modern tea house in APAC.
A newly established position, you will join as sole Legal Counsel (APAC) and to establish the legal team from scratch in the Singapore office. You will join a strong team of legal counsels who are based in China and gain exposure to regional legal matters. Reporting to the co-Founder and COO, you will advise on contractual matters relating to suppliers, including sale and purchase agreements.
Job Description
- Providing legal support to business teams in relation to a wide range of commercial matters
- Collaborating with the relevant business teams to ensure compliance with relevant rules and regulations, implementing and improving processes and procedures
- Keeping appraised of the latest laws and regulations impacting the company and its operations in the region and advise on best practices
- Working closely with the rest of the SEA team and the global team on group's global and region legal and compliance projects
- Managing external counsels whenever required
- Providing day-to-day legal support to business teams and developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, efficient, and business-centric ways
The Successful Applicant
- Degree in Law with at least 5PQE gained at reputable law firms and experience with large corporations such as MNCs
- Candidates with strong prior experience in F&B, FMCG and/or retail would be an advantage
- Comfortable and confident to work independently as sole Counsel in Singapore and APAC
