Senior Tax Associate

You will be an integral member of our Global Finance team, responsible for maintaining Secretlab’s day-to-day financial operations. As a Tax Associate, you will be establishing and evaluating Secretlab’s internal controls over tax reporting, compliance and business operations. You will be required to stay abreast with emerging tax laws and trends, apply in-depth business and tax knowledge to resolve multidisciplinary and multi-territory issues.


You will be part of a team that oversees the global financial operations of Secretlab and its collaborative programs with world-renowned brands, including Game of Thrones, Batman, Cloud9, Team Secret, as well as international esports organisers such as Riot Games for their League of Legends global tournaments.


Responsibilities

  • Support the management of tax compliance, reporting and filing for the Group
  • Ensure statutory tax compliance for all indirect tax and corporate tax, including timely and accurate filling of all statutory returns
  • Preparation of data/ documents for tax incentives application
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax agents to provide tax-related information, prepare indirect tax and corporate tax calculations for filing purposes
  • Support all tax compliance matters, answering and resolving tax-related issues encountered by internal stakeholders
  • Assist Tax Manager in the planning and implementation of transfer pricing model, reviewing existing contracts and ensuring an optimised tax structure
  • Proactively evaluate and suggest process improvement activities to improve the overall effectiveness of the tax functions, ensuring effective tax governance and control

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Accountancy, or any relevant courses of study
  • Minimum 2-3 years tax-related working experience with VAT/GST knowledge
  • IT-savvy with working experience utilising accounting and ERP software (preferably NetSuite)
  • A keen eye for detail, self-starter and willingness to learn with desire to probe further into data
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines in high pressure environments
  • Strong work ethic - systematic and meticulous
  • Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
