The Role:
In this role as a Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and functionality of software products through systematic testing processes. Your role will involve collaborating with development teams, designing test cases, executing tests, and reporting defects. You will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality software by identifying critical issues during the development life cycle.
Job Scope:
Test Planning:
- Collaborate with Test Lead, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements.
- Assist Test Lead in developing comprehensive test plans outlining the testing scope, approach, resources, and schedule.
Test Design:
- Create detailed and well-structured test cases based on functional and technical specifications.
- Identify and prioritize test scenarios based on business requirements and project goals.
Test Execution:
- Execute manual and automated tests to verify the functionality, reliability, and performance of software applications.
- Record and document test results, and promptly escalate issues to the development team.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to simulate real-world usage scenarios.
Defect Tracking:
- Identify testing to ensure that reported issues have been addressed.
Automation:
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts to enhance test efficiency and coverage.
- Collaborate with developers to integrate automated testing into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
Documentation:
- Maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Contribute to the creation and improvement of testing processes and standards.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience as a Software Test Engineer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Proficiency in manual and automated testing techniques.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Solid knowledge of SDLC, Agile, and other development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Knowledge of security testing principles and practices.
- Be able and willing to understand new technologies quickly
- Excellent analytical skills, able to understand and articulate business problem statement and use cases concisely
- Self-motivated and able to take direction and work resourcefully and independently
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.
