Contract Period: 1 Jan 2024 to 31 Dec 2024 with option to extend until 31 Dec 2025
Working Hours:
- Mondays to Fridays: 7:30am to 5 pm, inclusive of one hour lunch break
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Job Description:
- Prepare apparatus and materials for experiments
- Assist teachers in the carrying out of experiments
- Able to use equipment (e.g., microscope, dataloggers and equivalent) related to Science experiments and programmes
- Assist in any administrative work assigned
- Maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of Science labs
- Adhere to the safety rules and regulations
- Assist in the growing of plants (e.g., watering, mixing of nutrients, harvesting, etc.) and monitoring their growth
- Monitor the running of hydroponics and soil compost systems and carry out basic maintenance (topping up of water/nutrients and covering the openings to prevent mosquito breeding)
Job Requirements:
- GCE ‘O’ Level (at least 3 passes in English, Maths & Science)
- Able to commence work on 02 Jan 2024
- Good communication and inter-personal skills
- Good team player with a high level of initiative
- Knowledge of Primary Science curriculum
- Candidates with relevant experience as Science Lab assistant in schools will be preferred
