DPS Forward and VTC SG Team works on a wide variety of projects including DPS (Debit Processing Service) Forward, VTC (Visa Transaction Controls) and VMAAS (Visa Multi Account Access Service) to support Value Added Services (VAS) Issuing Solutions as part of the core Visa Technology Organization, driving the diversification of our revenue with products that differentiate our network and deliver valuable solutions across other rails.

We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our DPS Forward and VTC SG Team in Singapore!

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our DPS Forward and VTC SG Team in Singapore. You will help design, improve and build our solutions for customers in an agile, fast-paced environment. You will be working with colleagues across the company, who will help support and challenge you every day. Designing solutions, writing code, unit testing code, reviewing code and frequent check-ins for continuous integration is just part of your DNA. You will see your code going to production in just a few weeks and used by strategic accounts worldwide. If this sounds exciting, we would love to tell you more about us!

Our team, as well as our group works under the principles of a common engineering model with both development and testing expertise. You are encouraged to have hands-on experience and sufficient knowledge to contribute on both fronts as needed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design and develop new system enhancements as well as fix defects in existing software.

  • Help our clients achieve their business goals by understanding their requirements and delivering the best solution.

  • Contribute towards meetings and discussions with product and architecture teams.

  • Leverage newer technologies and develop solutions to build the next generation of payment platforms.

  • Work with a team of dedicated engineers and ensure DEV / QA best practices are followed.

  • Understand coding guidelines and participate in code review processes.

  • Review test strategy and test cases developed by test engineers to ensure optimum quality of solutions being delivered.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to hone leadership skills over time and work as a mentor to junior team members in future.

  • Develop close working relationships with members of teams within the organization.

  • Become knowledgeable of Visa's core technology, infrastructure and standards.

  • Participate in design and implement various aspects of secure payment solutions.

We want our Senior Software Engineers to do much more than just write code. You would be expected to bring in expertise that include:

  • Experience that will demonstrate proficiency and ease with one or more programming languages, quality assurance, scripting languages and operating systems.

  • Solid hands-on development experience in backend technologies including JAVA, J2EE, SQL and related technology stack, preferably incorporating open source libraries.

  • Hands-on experience to Spring Framework, Spring Boot, MongoDB and JPA / Hibernate is preferred

  • Hands-on experience in distributed architecture & data streaming approaches like Kafka and RabbitMQ is preferred

  • Strong foundation expected in data structures, algorithms, problem solving and complexity analysis.

  • Strong designing, analytical, programming, written and verbal skills needed, along with curiosity about building stable solutions.

  • Knowledge about writing unit test cases using frameworks like JUnit / TestNG is desired.

  • Some proven experience with n-tier web application development and experience in latest JDK is desired. Java / J2EE certification is preferred. Experience with web services standards and related technologies (XML, JSON, REST, SOAP, WS*, AXIS, JERSEY) is nice to have.

  • Proven experience using object-oriented patterns and design best practices is preferred

  • Exposure to tools like Postman / any REST Client is desired. LINUX skills are required.

  • Exposure to frameworks like Karate and TestNG is good to have to carry out QA tasks. Some knowledge of test automation frameworks is also a strong plus.

  • Familiarity with common application security vulnerabilities and how to overcome them (OWASP) is a Plus.

  • Working knowledge of Continuous Integration / Delivery, and Test Driven Development is good to have.

  • Knowledge in micro services and hands-on experience on container platforms like Kubernetes, Docker and OpenShift would be a strong plus.

  • Knowledge on Performance analysis tools like Riverbed and Monitoring tools like Splunk and Opera would be a strong plus.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
