Responsibilities:
- Conducts procurement activities for projects and yard related purchases
- Conducts due diligence, evaluation and qualification of vendors base on organization procurement policies to ensure quality vendors are being used in the organization’s supply chain.
- Keeps abreast with new sources and latest developments in equipment/ materials, work processes and labour conditions in the market which may affect organization's product line
- Liaises with vendors on cost quotation and contractual matters
- Liaises with different stakeholders within the organization which includes but not limited to Production, Engineering, Project Management and Marketing Departments on procurement activities and contractual matters
- Coordinates the procurement of equipment, specific materials and services
- Sources for quotations
- Assists in evaluation and negotiations with vendors, prepare bid analysis and obtain approvals for purchase
- Formulates purchase contracts and assist to conclude with short-listed vendors
- Coordinates and expedite for delivery of equipment/materials bought for projects.
- Performs quantification and valuation of completed work via detailed calculations, generate cost analyses, and provide assessment and guidance to project managers on supplier claims for original and variation work scopes
- Follows through to achieve successful final settlement and close-out with suppliers
- When specifically appointed, to coordinate within the department, all activities and related activities for procurement for ongoing projects
Requirements:
- Diploma in Engineering, preferably with commercial / contractual experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience, preferably in offshore and marine industry
- Possess knowledge of cost estimating methods
- Possess knowledge of technical requirements of equipment, materials and labour including related governing rules/ regulations
- Possess knowledge of procurement commercial conditions
- Possess updated knowledge of market values of equipment, materials, services and labour costs related to the organization's product lines
- Possess knowledge of operational capabilities and production facilities of the Company
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work in a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and JDEOW system
