The Merchant Acquisition Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to acquire new merchants and clients for the organization. In this role, they may lead and manage a team of merchant acquisition executives who are responsible for outbound calling and prospecting potential clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Develop and execute merchant acquisition strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of telemarketers, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
- Lead Generation: Oversee the merchant acquisition team's efforts to generate leads and identify potential merchant clients.
- Outbound Calling: Ensure that the team conducts outbound calls to potential clients, effectively communicates the organization's value proposition, and builds interest in the products or services.
- Sales Process: Develop and implement a structured sales process to guide the team in converting leads into customers.
- Sales Tracking: Monitor and report on the progress of direct sales efforts, track sales metrics, and provide insights for improvement.
- Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain positive relationships with merchants and clients, addressing their concerns and inquiries.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for telemarketers to enhance their sales skills and product knowledge.
- Compliance: Ensure that telemarketing activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, such as "Do Not Call" lists and privacy regulations.
- Reporting: Generate reports on acquisition activities, including key performance indicators (KPIs), conversion rates, and revenue growth.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in sales or merchant acquisition, preferably in advertising sales, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, including the ability to motivate and coach a sales team.
- Proficiency in direct and cold-calling sales techniques and lead generation strategies.
- Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software and sales tracking tools.
