Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the company's backup, restore, storage & disaster recovery: (70%)
- Design, configure, and manage the Veeam backup environment to ensure all data is securely backed up and recoverable.
- Monitor daily backup operations and ensure all scheduled backup jobs are performed successfully.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies for on-premises and cloud environments.
- Perform regular tests of backed-up data to ensure recoverability.
- Work closely with IT teams to ensure data protection for new servers and applications.
- Manage offsite backup replication processes and ensure compliance with data retention policies.
- Document backup procedures, disaster recovery plans, and configuration changes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to backup operations and system failures.
- Provide reports to management on backup activities, issues, and the status of remediation plans.
- Assist with the restoration of files, folders, and systems when required.
- Work with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution and maintenance of backup systems.
Responsible for the company's database construction, migration, upgrade, maintenance: (30%)
- Implement change requests related to development in database such as table design, triggers, and stored procedures.
- Provide solution for SQL query tuning.
- Backup and restore the database, monitor and optimize the performance of the database.
- Set up database clusters, backup, or recovery processes.
- Analyze Database tables access traffic and optimize the design.
- Ensure database integrity with proper and accurate data base synchronization.
- Responsible for data security and personal data protection.
- Document and communicate database schemas, using accepted notations.
- Compute database sizing for storage.
- Create and enforce database development standards.
- Designing databases to support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance and reliability.
- Designing database for High Availability and Disaster Recovery sites.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data protection, Database and recovery with a strong focus on Veeam backup solutions.
- Proficient in the installation, configuration, and management of Veeam Backup & Replication.
- Familiarity with various storage technologies (SAN, NAS) and backup protocols (CIFS, NFS, iSCSI).
- Experience with VMWare and Hyper-V virtualization environments.
- Knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Familiar with cloud storage solutions and Veeam Cloud Connect.
- Understanding of networking principles and protocols related to backup and recovery processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Certifications in Veeam (such as Veeam Certified Engineer) are highly preferred.
