Responsibilities


PROJECT WORK

  • Execute and co-ordinate all activities under the job holder’s responsibility
  • Perform functions of a Discipline Lead Engineer, including:
  1. Defining project scope, schedule and resources
  2. Establish discipline deliverables, interface definition and coordination
  3. Define and perform monitoring, control and reporting of progress
  4. Attend meetings and provide technical support
  5. Lead personnel assigned to support the job holder
  • Perform Package Engineering, including:
  1. Preparation of technical documentation (data sheets, requisitions, bid evaluation, technical reports, equipment criticality rating, etc.) towards procurement of mechanical equipment and packages from suppliers and vendors
  2. Review of supplier engineering documentation while interfacing with other disciplines/departments to assure engineering integration of equipment/packages overseen by Job Holder in a timely manner
  3. Minimize waivers, or mitigate impact from waivers on schedule and cost
  4. Conduct surveillance of vendor activities e.g., kick-off meetings, progress monitoring and expediting, equipment testing.
  5. Mechanical Completion: take part in site supervision of construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities
  6. Preparation, modification and review of documents and/or drawings as per discipline deliverable list
  7. Participate in studies and reviews where required as discipline lead or as mechanical package engineer e.g., HAZOP, Model Reviews.
  8. Encourage to and seek improvements to the project costs and schedule at all times
  9. Support the project organization in meeting project objectives (quality / costs / schedule / safety) along with other team members
  10. Travel overseas on short notice / perform overtime work as needed
  • DISCIPLINE/POSITIONAL
  1. Carry out all tasks assigned by superior in accordance with the discipline procedures and practices
  2. Ensure compliance to QHSE requirements (maintain a positive and safe work environment), and support improvements in QHSE
  3. Understand and comply with internal control procedures, and support improvements in discipline work processes and procedures
  4. Comply without fail with the company code of conduct and ensure ethical behaviour at all times. Unethical behaviour shall not be tolerated
  5. Supervise and lead less experienced engineers
  6. Continuous self-learning to increase technical competence, and experience transfer including input to lessons learnt activities, training of junior engineers and peers
  7. Operate with High Competency Levels e.g., communicate effectively at all levels, teamwork.
  8. Provide input to performance appraisals for employees under job holder’s supervision
  9. Accepts all tasks of a lower level and, in concurrence with the superior, certain tasks of a higher level

Work Experience

  • Min 1 years experience in Static Equipment/Packages in the oil, gas, or petrochemical (OGP) industry; preference will be given to those with significant experience in the Offshore OGP sector.
  • If >1years experience, Job Holder shall have the experience to perform pressure vessel detailed design, including mechanical design via spreadsheet or software such as PVElite, BJac, etc., and vessel fabrication drawing preparation.
  • Understands technical requirements of other disciplines/departments at interfaces
  • Other experience relevant for the position:
  1. Thermal Design (on HTRI or HTFS) of shell & tube heat exchangers, with ability to dictate exchanger design to manufacturers
  2. Process design knowledge of static packages and their internals e.g., Separators, Scrubbers, Hydrocyclone packages
  3. Relevant experience with a pressure vessel shop or company that supplies static equipment or skid package equipment
  4. Package Engineering for multi-disciplinary packages such as air compressors, water makers, or more complex process skid packages such as flare tips, chemical injection, pedestal cranes, etc. The more complex the better.
  5. Experience working with broad range of regulatory standards e.g., NCS, UKCS, Australian, Brazilian.
  • Familiar with oil & gas industry standards such as API, ISO, NORSOK, etc.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
