Project Engineer

The Project Engineer will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy, quality and safety from award to the on-time completion.


Reporting To:

Project Manager and/or any persons directed by Management


Responsibilities:Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project personnel to provide assistance and technical support


Planning, Execution and Monitoring

  • Assist in the overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
  • Monitor the work progress on daily basis
  • Assist to prepare internal and external reports pertaining to project status
  • Evaluate project progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Collaborate with design team and engineers regarding the design and cutting lists and shop drawings
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
  • Assist to obtain required permits and licences
  • Ensure compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications

Contract Management

  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Timely submission of progress claims to the client/main-contractor

Supplier and Sub-Contractor Management

  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
  • Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
  • Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed
  • Evaluate sub-con progress and certify claims accordingly
  • Assist procurement team with negotiation of contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements

Safety

  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Diploma in construction management, architecture, civil engineering or related field
  • Working experience in building and construction / civil and structural projects
  • Experience in at least two large-scale construction project specializing in facades
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Proficient knowledge in facade design and construction (Aluminium/Curtainwall/Glazing/Cladding)
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Understanding of all aspects of the construction process
  • Working knowledge of softwares: Microsoft Office, Project, BIM, Autocad, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture” as well as details
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (Oral and Written). English proficiency is a must.
