1. Safe and Timely Deliveries: Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport seafood and frozen food products to wholesale customers within assigned routes and schedules.
2. Product Inspection: Inspect products before loading to ensure they meet quality standards and are properly packaged to prevent damage during transit.
3. Loading and Unloading: Efficiently load and unload products from the delivery vehicle, ensuring that products are organized and secured to prevent shifting during transit.
4. Route Planning: Plan delivery routes to optimize delivery times, minimize fuel consumption, and adhere to traffic regulations.
5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts, delivery logs, and any issues encountered during delivery. Collect necessary signatures and payments as required.
6. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by being courteous, professional, and responsive to customer inquiries and requests. Address any delivery-related concerns promptly.
7. Refrigeration Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the refrigeration system in the delivery vehicle to ensure that products are stored at the appropriate temperatures.
8. Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies. Ensure the delivery vehicle is in good working condition, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
9. Communication: Communicate any delivery delays, issues, or product shortages to the dispatcher or supervisor in a timely manner.
10. Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management by verifying product quantities during deliveries and reporting any discrepancies.
Qualifications:
· Valid class 4 driver's license with a clean driving record.
· Experience in commercial driving, particularly with refrigerated trucks, is preferred.
· Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling perishable goods.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills.
· Strong communication and customer service skills.
· Ability to lift heavy boxes and packages.
· Attention to detail and accuracy.
· Flexibility in working hours, as some early mornings, evenings, and weekends may be required.
· Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
