POSITION DESCRIPTION
The analyst's primary goal is to help Decent Capital own the best performing Japanese Onshore Funds to ensure strong performance in the overall global fund portfolio. To accomplish this goal, the analyst is required to demonstrate analytical capacity in determining asset quality as well as a certain ability to source high potential pipelines.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ground research to apply macro view on different markets, fundamental research to potential sectors. Working with the team Director for assets mapping and classification.
- Conduct routine updates for existing portfolio funds by return contribution analysis, risk shifting check and periodical strategy review
- Conduct due diligence on pipeline funds by historical performance analysis, peer comparison, GP interviews and reference checks.
- Collaborate with colleagues globally.
QUALIFICATIONS
- To covering Japan Fund assets and fundamental research, JLPT N1 level for Japanese required.
- To liaise with Mandarin speaking counterparts in China, fluent in English and working level of Chinese (Mandarin) is required
- Highly motivated, confident self-starter and calculated risk-taker with the ability to work independently and with others
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thematic research across a broad spectrum of topics which can be additive to the investment process
- Work requires traveling between Singapore and Japan
