We are looking for a Squad Lead to join our company. Squad Leads,also known as Scrum Masters, are a key facilitator role that enables close cooperation across all squad members, motivates and protects the squad from distractions & interruptions and is responsible for enacting Agile values and practices within the squad. You are proficient in facilitating collaboration and open communication, promoting creativity and accountability and removing blockers where necessary. A servant leader with bold gumption and a ‘We Can Do It’ creed will describe you perfectly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a representative for their respective squads at various ceremonies and provide feedback on squad capacity and feedback.
  • Serve a crucial role in the agile matrix to plan and orchestrate execution of work and build a cohesive team.
  • Support Product Owners in managing the backlog by organising and facilitating timely grooming sessions with the squad.
  • They also provide inspiration, coaching, and feedback to team members, report back on progress to tribe leaders, and give input on people development and performance to relevant IT Area or Chapter leaders.
  • Squad Leads are integral to clearing blockers and impediments, and eliminating waste for the squad. In order to do that, he must create a working environment where raising impediments can occur, and members are not afraid to raise risks and impediments. As a servant leader, the Squad Lead guides the team towards self-organization and cross-functionality. He also encourages, supports, and enables the team to reach their full potential and abilities.
  • Squad Leads champion agile principles at the squad level, encouraging squad members to participate in scrum ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews and retrospectives, and feature planning. He facilitates the agile “way of working” in day-to-day activities, and helps the scrum ceremonies be purposeful and effective. He also facilitates the continuous improvement process whereby members can drive various initiatives to improve the way they work.
  • Be accountable for team productivity, quality and delivery in accordance to timelines.
  • Plan and orchestrate execution of tasks while functioning as an individual contributor
  • Manage resource allocation and prioritization effectively
  • Monitor progress, highlight issues encountered, flag potential roadblocks early, mitigate risks and manage issues appropriately.
  • Champion scrum principles, ensures scrum activities remain effective and purposeful
  • Coach and empower team members, encourage growth and knowledge sharing, facilitate continuous improvement and build team cohesion
  • Mentor team members through constructive feedback and inspire members to achieve optimal performance
  • Manage backlog through timely feedback with the team.

Prerequisites

  • Experience in Scrum Master role.
  • Excellent communication and servant leadership skills.
  • Previous experience in leading and motivating multi-disciplinary teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standard best practices and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Foresighted behavioural attitude for effective delivery management
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, high productivity environment.
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Scrum master certification is a plus
