APAC Export Compliance Responsibilities

Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working with export controls, commercial encryption controls, and cyber security controls in greater China region. Experience obtaining certifications, licenses, and other similar approvals from relevant agencies in China.
  • Expertise and experience in export controls, licensing processes, and related compliance procedures in APAC countries.
  • Knowledge of US export controls and determining both h/w and s/w product classifications.
  • Ability to interpret regulations, assess the impact, implement efficient compliance solutions and communicate effectively to business partners.
  • Knowledge and application of sanctions laws in Greater China and APAC
  • Experience with evaluating companies and individuals for export control risks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting compliance trainings to large groups.
  • Excellent organization, project management, and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with import classifications.
  • 5+ years of export compliance experience is required.
  • Mac, MacOS and iOS proficiency is required.

Description

The Global Export & Sanctions Compliance (GESC) team at Apple is responsible for compliance with worldwide laws governing the exports of technology and products. We devise solutions to address these compliance challenges at Apple. As an integral part of the GESC you will be responsible for a wide array of export and sanctions compliance activities in the greater China region, including but not limited to export controls, encryption controls, data export controls, cyber security controls, and financial and economic sanctions. You will be responsible for all aspects of the compliance program, including documentation, trainings, securing approvals from relevant authorities. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with deemed reexports of technologies per the US EAR, working with your counterparts in the US and other countries. In addition, you will be expected to participate and contribute to the many other facets of responsibilities which the export compliance department manages across the company. Education

Bachelors degree in international business, international relations, international trade, law degree or a related degree or equivalent work experience..
