Oil brokerage is a leading multi-commodity broking company, headquartered in London and with offices worldwide. Singapore is the largest overseas office for the company.
As a result of business expansion and growth, Oil Brokerage International is seeking a motivated full stack engineer for their shipping research desk.
The role will functionally report to the head of the shipping research and technically to the head of data development.
About OBX
The software engineering team at OB provide a suite of technology solutions to the brokering, trading and analyst teams in OBs global offices. Recently the business has expanded into the maritime shipping space, and are now looking for a specialist Azure engineer to collaborate closely with the shipping research team based in the Singapore office.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop API's using C#/XUnit to import data to Cosmos and migrate using Synapse to SQLServer
- Provide support and advice to the Research team on using and structuring SQL especially tables and queries
- Create/Maintain Synapse pipelines and backup strategies
Skillsets & Qualifications
- Proven exposure to Azure cloud services which must cover a detailed understanding of Azure resources including Functions, Cosmos, Service Bus . You should have a familiarity with microservice based architectures
- Demonstratable abilities building cloud infrastructure using Terraform and YAML
- Significant experience of high data volume solutions that have implemented CosmosDB and Azure Synapse
- A proven track record of developing solutions using .Net (C#) frameworks which must include minimum v5, and preferably include all versions through to v8
- intimate knowledge of MSSQL Server and an ability to compose highly performant t-SQL queries
- Good understanding of GIT
- Additionally, any meaningful exposure to Docker would be a bonus
- Some familiarity with Python would be desirable but not essential
- Comfortable collaborating with multiple stakeholders across both the business and technology teams
The role is suitable for an experienced individual with a meaningful history delivering solutions. Whilst we have looked to avoid putting years values against any of the above needs; the expectation is that it would take approaching 10 years working in the development/data space to acquire the experience the role will demand
