We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Business Manager, CMB South & South East Asia (S&SEA) Chief of Staff Office.
Principal Responsibilities
- The Senior Manager, Business Performance within S&SEA CMB is responsible for developing and implementing an effective Business Performance strategy, supporting cyclical activities such as Financial Resource Planning and other short-term initiatives. The role holder will take ownership of this strategy and initiatives across S&SEA CMB and also ensure alignment to ASP CMB strategy
- The role holder is also responsible for supporting the Head of S&SEA CMB in all the bank wide Governance Meetings attended and is accountable for ensuring all inputs, outputs and briefings are actioned accordingly
- This job is not client facing and does not have any portfolios. The role holder is also expected to identify key challenges and provide key solutions that will drive improved Business Performance together with providing strong oversight on all Governance related activities, including:Develops creative solutions, which are deployed seamlessly across S&SEA CMB, in a way that leads to improved levels of Business Performance
Provides leadership with a strong narrative with which communicate the Business strategy
Ensures organisational integrity and beliefs are reflected in day-to-day behaviours
Proactively collaborates across CMB, with function, GCMB and ASP markets
Assisting with the execution of business initiatives and activities in support of business area aims. Change implementation projects are out of scope
Participate and support in business planning activities which may include financial, technological and resource planning
Works with ASP CMB ExCo Members and the broader Management Team on the submission of Governance Papers and associated briefing papers, ensuring adherence to ‘Ways of Working’ standards
Effective deputization for Chief of Staff, CMB S&SEA
- The role holder is responsible for providing an understanding of CMB-wide achievement of strategic aims, as measured through tracking, analytics and other performance related metrics
- Works in partnership with Finance and manages relationships with key stakeholders ensuring that clear plans and priorities are developed for CMB and are aligned to specific HBAP and Global Business strategies
- The role holder requires a significant level of independent decision-making utilising knowledge and information to pro-actively solve complex issues and implement effective solutions in an efficient and timely manner
- The role holder will be required to work with the relevant Senior Executive to ensure that the Head of S&SEA CMB is fully briefed in advance of attendance at all Governance Meetings
- Providing support and guidance to Senior Executives on briefing papers with the relevant knowledge and understanding to ensure briefings adequately cover key points
- Is the key interface between the Secretariats of the GCMB, HBAP & ASP CMB Governance Meetings and the GCMB and HBAP Management Office for key governance related activities
- Control and oversight of all actions assigned to or from the Head of S&SEA CMB, working with relevant stakeholders to ensure completion
- Assisting with the development of a culture that has ‘treating customers fairly’ at its core, is focused on customer experience and the professionalism of our service proposition
- Representing HSBC internally and externally as a Senior Manager
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the ASP Commercial Banking business and market
- Sound understanding of ASP CMB strategy
- Sound understanding of front-line systems, policies and processes
- Good understanding of Risk and Financial Crime Management
- Proven experience of working effectively with, and a detailed knowledge of the bank’s IT systems, HR Direct, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Group Intranet, etc
- Outwardly demonstrates HSBC ASP principles of treating customers fairly
- Knowledge of the bank’s Governance Structure with experience and understanding of governance forums and papers
