As our Laser Production Technician, you will have the responsibility to manufacture, test and troubleshoot laser products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Manufacture and test of lasers, laser sub-assemblies and laser components against documented specifications.
- Fiber handling, splicing, routing, pig-tailing, operating laser diodes, diodes replacement.
- Perform fiber-based assemblies and rework laser diode issues.
- Testing of fiber-based assembly and optical alignment to specification.
- Ability to build and debug simple fiber assemblies and sub-assemblies’ issues.
- Experience with splicing optical fibers and optical/lens/mirrors alignment is an asset.
- Understand and follow work instructions and procedures.
- Incorporate optical, mechanical, and electrical sub-assemblies into systems unit with test.
- Ability to perform optical alignment of laser outputs utilizing beam expanders, lenses and mirrors to achieve desired system specifications. Verify laser beam quality using energy power meter, burn paper, electrical multi-meter, and vision system analysis.
- Install and align optical, mechanical, and optical sub-assemblies into systems using precision instruments.
- Troubleshoot test failures and ability to rework component failure by replacing bad parts.
- Follow and execute a build plan to meet 100% OTD (on-time-delivery).
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent.
- At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Must demonstrate technical competence in optical, mechanical, or electrical assembly.
- Ability to assemble mechanical, electrical, and optical subsystems.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions, technical drawing, and diagrams.
- Ability and experience in troubleshooting technical issues.
