Responsible for risk management of energy trading company; planning and establishing risk management framework; managing market risk, credit risk, and potential risks related to LNG trading; together with his/her supervisor, Risk Management Officer.
Job Duties:
· Designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the organization, which includes an analysis of the financial and operating impact on the company and reporting its details to Risk Management Officer when risks occur.
· Performing a risk assessment: Analysing current risks such as market and credit risks and identifying potential risks affecting the company under the supervision of Risk Management Officer.
· Performing a risk evaluation: Evaluating the company’s previous handling of risks and comparing potential risks with criteria set out by the company such as costs and legal requirements under the supervision of Risk Management Officer.
· Discussing and establishing the level of risk the company is willing to take.
· Auditing hedging scheme and method which would be done by trading departments.
· Managing and operating Energy Trading Risk Management System (ETRMS).
· Risk reporting tailored to the relevant audience. (Enlightening management about the significant risks to the trading business; ensuring trading personnel understand the risks that might affect their departments; ensuring individuals understand their accountability for individual risks)
· Reviewing any new and existing major contracts or internal proposals.
· Effectively and frequently communicate with Tokyo team in Japanese on a daily basis.
· Work with Risk Management Officer to establish a system to ensure that the company's risk management process operates properly.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Min. of a Degree / Diploma in / Finance & Accounting / Economics / Science / Statistics or a relevant discipline with ideally 10-12 years of overall relevant experience and 5-6 years of solid track record in the energy trading industry.
· Proficient and fluent in Japanese and English (written and verbal communication in Japanese with internal and external stakeholders are required).
· Possess good analytical skills and a strong understanding of the energy market, especially LNG and oil industry, Futures Commission Merchants, Commodity Brokers, Commodity Exchanges, ISDA master contracts, CFTC and EMIR regulations.
· Able to work effectively with stakeholders at different levels, preferably with experience managing relationships across cultures, geographies, and functions.
