The School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) invites applications for the position of Principal Research Fellow (Photonics) to support the research team for the project titled: Photonic Integrated Circuits for Quantum and Optical Devices (PICQOD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on design, fabrication, and testing of compact Photonic Integrated Chips (PIC)
- Focus on data collection and analysis of the PIC
- Focus photon statistics and data processing as well as the analysis and verification to process the losses and decoherence effects of the system
Job Requirements:
- PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or Physics
- At least 10 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge in silicon photonics-based integrated quantum optics and computing
- Experience in silicon photonics modulator design, detectors, photonic integrated circuit design and other integrated waveguide devices
- Proficiency in optical and electronic modelling and simulation software
