Position Summary:
Supervision of QC activities including Analytical Services, product analysis (IQC, IPQC & FQC), method development and managing laboratory-related projects, and ensuring regulatory compliance and operational safety of the laboratory and its processes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Assistant Lab Manager, as well as other key stakeholders, to collaboratively prioritize day-to-day laboratory tasks including analytical testing for customers, to meet their needs and deadlines while supportingoverall business objectives.
- Lead the development, review, and enhancement of laboratory operational planning and procedures to optimizeproductivity and minimize operational costs.
- Develop and implement control plans and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for laboratory processes toensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Act as the primary liaison between the laboratory and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers,to address technical and quality-related matters.
- Provide laboratory support for small-scale blending of new formulations to facilitate the growth of new businessinitiatives.
- Ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO9001, ISO18001, ISO14001, SS506, and ISO17025management systems within the laboratory.
- Drive the implementation and development of innovative analytical methods to stay at the forefront of technology.
- Provide effective troubleshooting support and incident management for laboratory-related issues, ensuringminimal disruptions.
- Manage laboratory operating expenses to optimize resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee procurement, inventory management, and the capitalization of laboratory assets to maintain efficientoperations.
- Adhere to and enforce all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) rules and regulations to ensure a safeworking environment.
- Lead or actively participate in safety, reliability, and productivity-related projects within the laboratory's scope.
- Provide comprehensive training to laboratory staff to maintain their skill set and foster flexibility within the team.
- Ensure the timely transfer of the Dip tube preventive maintenance program management to the AV-8 operationsteam.
- Lead or participate in projects that align with and contribute to the overall objectives of laboratory operations.
- Manage the capital purchase process for laboratory metrology and equipment upgrades to align with industrystandards and technological advancements.
- Undertake any other tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the laboratory's success
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, of which 5 years of supervisory experience
