Responsibilities
We work with colleagues in in Head Office, as well as business lines and functions across the Asia Pacific region.. We focus on the implications for our clients and our business relating to the climate emergency, and all aspects of the energy transition. We are also aware of the need for cross-cutting perspectives to manage inter-related systemic sector risks facing our clients, touching biodiversity, water and the natural environment, livelihoods in the natural and built space, energy transition, mobility, transportation and food systems, and human health and social well-being.
Organization & Governance
• Build and maintain strong bridges with EMEA including Company Engagement Department, CSR and ESG Data teams, and respective CIB Engagement and Sustainable Markets, as well as across the region
• Support the preparation of the agenda and content for various Head Office and regional meetings (Sustainable Finance Steerco / community call)
• Support reporting to head office and for the region (SF Dashboard)
CSR
• Supporting CSBO coordinating with Global CIB CSR & Group CSR on CSR matters.
• Help build informed opinion on the bank’s CSR, ESG, reputation and transition risk assessment in relevant credit and other business decision committees.
• Support on group policy matters (application, impact assessment)
Capacity building
• Leverage technical expertise to organize and conduct capacity building workshops, webinars, together with relevant expert colleagues, for stakeholders on sustainable finance and ESG issues/trends, including NEST, NZBA, LCTG, C2A, Mobility Infrastructure etc.
• Support the delivery of the Sustainability Academy training programme in CIB APAC – ESG Business Essentials, Sustainability Masterclass- and ESG Sectorial pitches
- Contribute to make training content relevant for APAC markets and audiences
- Contribute to Learning and Development team on content, help develop and deliver relevant training content for colleagues
Market Intelligence & Research
• Monitor market developments / trends in international and local regulatory and governance environmental, social policies, best practice and standards (e.g. EU Sustainable Finance Action Plan, TCFD, NGFS, GIP, Climate Risk Stress Tests etc.)
Communications and branding
• Promote the bank’s aims and achievements relating to sustainable finance through support of external and internal communications and events.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
Required Qualifications
• Relevant educational qualifications, Master’s degree preferred, in relevant field
• Experience in sustainable/development finance, corporate sustainability, or climate/environmental policy
Required Skills and Competencies
• Adhere to BNPP core values, as enshrined in the BNP Paribas 2020 Engagement Manifesto
• Ability to prioritize, work independently and proactively and operate under tight deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for training leadership
Working Relationships
• Capacity to engage positively with the senior BNPP operational management at local, regional and global levels, on delivery mechanisms for the GTS 2025, including
- Policies, ESG data, reporting on revenues and training statistics and on climate risk management mechanisms
• Build and maintain strong and informed links globally to relevant sustainability BNPP leaders in Europe and the Americas with similar agendas
