POSITION SUMMARY
The Commodities Analyst will be based in our Singapore office as part of a team investing across strategies focusing on Commodities across any subset of products including, but not limited to, oil, gas, power, metals, etc.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Research Analyst working alongside a Commodities Portfolio Manager based in Hong Kong
· Communicating with industry and sell-side contacts
· Building and maintaining detailed models from scratch across commodity verticals
· Generating commodity investment ideas by conducting deep fundamental research
REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Engineering from a reputable university.
· Minimum 5 years of relevant commodity focused experience across but not limited to Hedge Funds, Trading Houses, Prop Desks or Banks
· Minimum 4 years of experience building out supply demand balances across industrial commodities, particularly base metals and PGMs
· Intimate knowledge of China’s political, regulatory and industrial situation given it’s a key market for these commodities products
· High proficiency in conversational and written Mandarin language to communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders
· Strong analytical and modelling capability
· Python-based programming skills preferred
