The Contract Manufacturing Manager plays a pivotal role in orchestrating and optimizing our contract manufacturing partnerships to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products.

This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end contract manufacturing process, from selection and contract negotiation to production planning, quality control, and cost management.

The position oversees production at 1-2 manufacturing sites, ensuring the successful execution of our manufacturing partnerships. It plays an integral role in cross-functional collaboration, working closely with various teams within the organization to drive efficient and high-quality product manufacturing.


HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING


  • Contract manufacturer Selection: Identify, evaluate, and select co-manufacturers based on their capabilities, capacity, and alignment with our quality standards and values.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with co-manufacturers, outlining terms, expectations, pricing structures, and quality standards
  • Production Planning: Collaborate with the demand planning team to develop production schedules that meet inventory and delivery requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality control processes to ensure that products manufactured by co-manufacturers meet our quality standards. Conduct regular quality audits.
  • Cost Management: Monitor production costs and work with co-manufacturers to optimize costs while maintaining quality.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with co-manufacturers, acting as the primary point of contact. Address any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Performance Tracking: Implement KPIs and metrics to assess the performance of co-manufacturers, regularly reviewing their performance and taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, supply chain, quality control, and product development, to ensure seamless communication and alignment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within co-manufacturing operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure that co-manufacturers adhere to all regulatory and safety requirements, and that they meet all legal and ethical standards.


YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS


  • Tertiary qualifications in supply chain management, engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar external contract manufacturing development/management.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to visit co-manufacturing partners.
