ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a VP Capital Stack who will play a crucial role in working with the investments team. In this role, the candidate will contribute meaningfully to fundraising efforts and optimizing the financial structure of Xora’s portfolio companies. The successful candidate will be a ‘thinker-doer’, i.e., a strategically minded, yet hands-on and a strong communicator. The ideal candidate will possess significant capital formation and fund-raising experience, strong business partnering skills, and a proven track record of excellence. This presents an exciting opportunity for an investment or capital markets professional with current exposure or a keen interest in gaining exposure to the dynamic field of deep tech.
This position requires you to work from the Company’s headquarters in Singapore.
- Attract different types of capital to portfolio, equity financings (early and growth), debt financing (e.g., first of a kind project financing), non-dilutive financing (e.g. government grants)
- Act as a partner and advisor to portfolio companies to navigate strategic transactions and investor relations.
- Actively source and forge close collaborations between Xora’s portfolio teams with Corporates, Government institutions and finance partners to actively contribute and bolster fundraising initiatives.
- Aid in preparation of investor marketing and materials for Xora and portfolio companies
- Develop and implement financial strategies for Xora’s portfolio companies, considering the unique challenges and opportunities in the deep tech sector.
- Provide insights to support strategic decision-making by staying abreast of market trends, competitor landscape, and financial market conditions that may impact portfolio companies.
- Stay informed about relevant financial regulations and ensure compliance for portfolio companies, mitigating financial risks and optimizing capital efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with other teams within the VC firm, including investment, legal, and operational teams, to ensure a holistic approach to portfolio management.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- At least 6 years of industry experience in roles related to private funds or capital raising in a VC/PE/IB firm/deep tech start-up.
- Experience and track record in working with institutional investors for fundraising and investor relations functions.
- Familiarity with the unique dynamics of startup financing, investor relations, and diligence processes is valuable.
- Relationships with international deep tech investors would be strongly preferred.
- Highly analytic, methodical, and problem-solving approach that supports and enables efficient and effective decision-making amongst multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, partnering, and relationship-building skills with a proven ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a wide range of internal and external partners, including our portfolio companies.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills; comfortable interacting and communicating with executive and senior management levels.
