Main Duties & Job Responsibilties
- Support the EHS Functions, occupational health, environmental, fire protection and emergency response and procedures to meet the company and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with Government agencies on EHS matters and ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
- Establish, implement and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, policies, risk assessments and safe work procedures.
- Provide plant expertise on Singapore WSH and Environment regulations and interpretations. Candidates must also be able to provide planning and organization for implementation of new or revised safety regulations.
- Conduct internal and external audits for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 related system.
- Conduct near-miss incident/accident investigations related to security, emergency response and contractor safety & health matters, and implement corrective measures to prevent a recurrence.
- Perform industrial hygiene survey, environment monitoring activities and maintains the necessary records.
- Conduct regular workplace inspection to assess safety performance, identify areas of improvement and monitor effectiveness of corrective and preventive measures.
- Provide oversight for contractor work activities including safety and health training, qualification and selection, audits, and program enhancements.
- Develop and conduct relevant emergency response training, drills and tabletop exercises for emergency management team, emergency response teams, colleagues, contractors, suppliers and visitors.
- Conduct safety training, orientation and briefing to employees and contractors.
- Oversee fire protection, fire alarm, public address and security systems in terms of preventive maintenance and performance monitoring and testing.
- Any other ad-hoc duties as and when assigned.
Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety/ Science/ Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 3 years working experience in WSH related fields or equivalent in a manufacturing industry.
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer and/or Certified Fire Safety Manager will be added advantages.
- Detailed understanding and knowledge on regulatory requirements related to workplace safety and health, environment as well as ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards.
- Strong technical experience in identifying, evaluating and controlling hazards in workplace
- Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer with MOM
- Possess internal auditing skills on ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
- Detailed understanding and knowledge on WSH Act, environmental & other legal requirements
- Able to organize and carry out EHS-related training and group meeting.
- Able to attain all the necessary permits and licenses
- Proactive, independent, able to work with minimal supervision and perform under pressure
