Assistant Commercial Manager

The Assistant Commercial Manager shall fulfil the following requirements:

  •  A University degree and/or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience;
  •  Good leadership, controlling and communication skills as well the ability to work within the team;
  •  Good command of the English language.
  • Able to speak Mandarin

The Assistant Commercial Manager acts under the supervision of the Commercial Manager, and is responsible for:

  • Ensuring vessels under full management are managed according to the contractual terms as stipulated in the respective management agreement;
  • Ensuring the Technical Superintendents are aware of the management agreement for the vessels under their control;
  • Preparing correct and timely monthly accounts and quarterly accounts/reports;
  • Controlling and monitoring the vessels budgets in close cooperation with the Commercial Manager and the respective Technical Superintendent;
  • Maintaining channels of communication with Owners regarding budgetary matters;
  • Being adequately conversant with the Company’s Management System;
  • Implementing effectively the Company’s Management System;
  • Contributing to the development of new or the amendment of existing procedures;
  • Promoting and supporting efforts for continual improvement;
  • Preparing timely budget proposals in close cooperation/coordination with the Technical Superintendents and Technical Fleet Managers;
  • Sending the budget proposals at the end of each calendar year to the vessel owners in due time. Relevant issues have to be followed up until the new budget has been agreed and approved;
  • Circulating the approved budgets to all parties concerned;
  • Overviewing the purchasing function related to cost control;
  • Executing special tasks and projects in accordance with direct instructions from the Commercial Manager and or Technical Director;
  • Working closely together with the Technical Department Managers;
  • Arranging purchasing trainings for Purchasers;
  • Ensuring that purchasing services provided are in compliance with the purchasing
  • manual;
  • Ensuring that the Purchasers are maintaining the computerised purchasing program;
  • Being fully conversant with the Company’s Management System;
  • Implementing effectively the Company’s Management System;
  • Contributing to the development of new or the amendment of existing procedures;
  • Promoting and supporting efforts for continual improvement;
  • Monitoring and evaluating suppliers performance in cooperation with all Company’s offices and affiliates;
  • Assisting the Commercial Manager in the monitoring CSM financial exposure on each Client, and informing Top Management where such exposure becomes significant.
