Job Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-investment reviews covering deal origination, feasibility study, stage-gate approvals, methodology and rational for allocations, valuation, due diligence and finalisation processes.
- Evaluate the reasonableness and consistency of assumptions, models, and calculations used, as well as the completeness, accuracy, and relevance of underlying data used.
- Conduct post-investment review for key projects, stakeholder reporting on return and risk metrics, portfolio adjustment process, completeness, and resolution of risk assessments.
- Work with some auditors in operating platforms to integrate insights on project progress (e.g. execution of asset enhancement initiatives that were underwritten in business case).
- Review the process of ensuring adherence to the commitments made to investors.
- Review the capabilities and functionalities of portfolio deal/management systems (not security review) to support a sustainable business growth.
- Understand and recommend if any key policies or design controls need to be developed for the company.
- Periodically understand the market and operating category research insights along with the risk landscape to identify trends that are required to be audited.
- Review the existing process of compliance to ensure compliance with the regulations and company policies (e.g. AML/CFT, TPAs, MAS notifications etc).
- Understand emerging compliances relevant to the market and assets invested into to conduct proactive audits.
- Identify audit issues and concerns, assess risks and exposures, and make practical and value-added recommendations on internal controls, efficiencies and business processes to the Management to mitigate overall exposure to business risks.
- May be required to assist with special reviews and investigations.
- Such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably requested by your immediate supervisor / the head of department from time to time.
Job Requirements
- Good degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business or equivalent including CFA and CA.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within an Asset or Investment Management firm/ Big 4 accounting firms specialising in private funds and alternate asset management audit.
- Knowledge of Investment/Fund Management processes (e.g., fund life cycle, sales, trading, fund management, compliance).
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements and developments within the Investment/Fund Management industry.
- Possess good business acumen and have an inquiring mind
- Meticulous, highly analytical, process-driven self-starter with the ability to work independently and as a team member
- Good interpersonal skills, able to work in diverse environment and build good working relationships with business counterparts
- Good report-writing and communication skills
- Overseas travelling will be required
