About the organisation

United Women Singapore (UWS) is a local non-profit organisation with IPC status that advances women’s empowerment and gender equality and builds a pipeline of women leaders and influencers in Singapore. The organisation has been operating for over 26 years and works towards narrowing the gender equality gap through education and raising awareness and advocacy on issues such as women’s empowerment and anti-violence, with the support of key stakeholders including corporate partners, government agencies, academia, the diplomatic community, other non-profit and community groups and the wider community.


Job Description

We are seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join our organisation as Senior Associate / Associate – Programmes and Outreach. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our programmes are effective in promoting gender equality, empowering women, and fostering inclusivity. In addition, you will also be responsible for nurturing strategic partnerships, developing community relationships, and promoting our presence in the community.


Key Responsibilities

Programmes and Outreach

  • Collaborate with the Programmes Manager to develop and refine the organisation's gender equality programme strategy
  • Lead the design and execution of gender equality and empowerment programmes in alignment with organisational goals and objectives
  • Identify opportunities for new programme initiatives and oversee their development and implementation
  • Drive innovative pathways and grow partnerships to lead and grow the programmes
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth programme delivery
  • Liaise with beneficiary organisations (which includes corporates, community partners, schools, IHLs etc.) to facilitate the delivery of the programmes, host webinars and events and provide operational support for the execution of programmes
  • Ensure the programme content is up-to-date, relevant and is abreast of developments and trends in the related fields
  • Consolidate event feedback and generate relevant reports to assess impact, process efficiencies and optimal use of resources
  • Monitor programme progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure desired outcomes
  • Assess feasibility where necessary, for all awareness and advocacy events and activities. Coordinate logistics, implementation, resource allocation and budget planning
  • Be the subject matter expert on gender equality and provide responses to interviews, media releases as required
  • Recruit, manage and train volunteers where required for the delivery of the programmes
  • Work closely with the youth and students to curate and deliver gender equality projects / activities with schools and community partners
  • Other duties as assigned

Communications

  • Maintain and ensure an updated list of all the contacts for partners, schools, sponsors, vendors and service providers to enable import into the CRM database for ready access when required
  • Work with the Communications team to co-develop the social media strategy for the related programmes
  • Maintain clear channels of communication within the team and the organisation

  • A Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Communications,Law with relevant work experience
  • Proven experience in partnership development, community engagement, or a related role
