Job Descriptions


Purchasing & Operations

  • OTB (Open to Buy)
  • Forecast and plan buy
  • Review Sales, Inventory, Profit and OTB Budgets vs actual performance to evaluate the achievability of budget using the OTB tool.
  • Identifying risks and opportunities to present to the management and share with store leaders
  • Review stores benchmark by analyzing historical sales, purchase index, SKU efficiency, and specific store needs as well as strategy planning
  • Liaise with marketing team to plan opportunity promotional sales
  • Liaise with business development team to suggest product placement and product mix on layout and planogram

Inventory Management

  • Analyzing sales data, trends, customer demands and liaison with category manager to create inventory forecasts
  • Monitoring inventory levels to ensure that they remain within healthy shelf life
  • Tracking shelf life of goods under category of care, updating expiry date wherever applicable
  • Managing of inventory under category of care to prevent shrinkage or aged stocks
  • Coordinating with suppliers or third party distributors to ensure timely delivery of stocks
  • Following SOPs to handle damaged goods or depletion of short shelf life items
  • Tracking of shipments to ensure orders placed are all in and checking of invoices & shipping documents where all information are tally

Analysis

  • Analyze categories to identify areas of product gaps and business opportunities to enhance competitive positioning
  • Analyze market and industry trends to keep products and services in line with changing market conditions and consumer trends
  • Managing of timelines & stakeholders for each new product development project
  • Sales Data Analysis - Analysis of sales figures and patterns to identify trends & gaps for optimization of sales


Job requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in related field.
  • 2 - 3 years of working experience in the retail industry merchandising, Experience in FMCG is a bonus
  • Pro-active self-starter with strategic and analytical thinking skills and presentation skills
  • Team player who co-operates well and thrives in a very competitive and fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication & strong business sense and acumen
  • Effective Planning & Organization Skills/ Ability to lead
  • Entrepreneurial Skills: trendspotting, innovative, good business judgment and acumen.
