- Taking measurements, drawing up plans for proposed works, sourcing materials, preparing estimates and undertaking shop/site visits.
- Operate various hand tools, power tools and equipment used to complete carpentry duties including: circular saw, table saw, router, pneumatic nail gun, ramset, drills, and other tools used for measuring, cutting, fastening, and drilling.
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily bass.
- Comply with all company policies and regulations.
- Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists, stud, refinishing and retouching works.
- Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall, insulation, saddles, covers and packaging.
- Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures.
- Selecting lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer needs, budget and style.
- Liaising with clients, suppliers and other job professionals.
- Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations.
