Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. The role may require physical strength to assist in loading and unloading produce from truck containers, especially during periods of labor shortages.
Responsibilities:
Supervision: Oversee day-to-day warehouse activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Team Management: Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
Inventory Control: Implement and maintain effective inventory control measures, including regular stock counts, cycle counts, and reconciliations.
Loading and Unloading: Assist in the loading and unloading of produce from truck containers when necessary, especially during periods of labor shortages or increased workload.
Quality Control: Ensure the quality and condition of all received and dispatched goods meet company standards. Report any discrepancies or issues promptly.
Operational Efficiency: Streamline warehouse processes to optimize efficiency and reduce lead times. Implement best practices for workflow management.
Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and ensure the proper maintenance of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
Health and Safety: Enforce and promote a culture of health and safety within the warehouse. Conduct regular safety meetings and address any concerns promptly.
Requirements:
Proven experience in warehouse supervision or a similar role.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Physical strength and ability to lift heavy loads, particularly during the loading and unloading of produce from truck containers.
Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in the use of warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
