Build the UWS brand as a trusted brand to all stakeholders.
The role requires conceptualisation and implementation of communication and digital marketing strategies and activities which support United Women Singapore’s initiatives in the areas of programmes, advocacy, fundraisers and research. The role will also be responsible for all aspects of digital and traditional communication channels, ensuring the work and successful outcomes of the organisation are communicated effectively. The role involves a high degree of digital marketing expertise, graphics / art direction, public and media relations.
Key Responsibilities
General Communications and PR
● Conceptualise the development of an integrated communications strategy and manage the implementation
● Lead the design, development and delivery of digital and traditional communications for advocacy, programming, research, online / offline fundraisers, branding and the general work of the organisation
● Create and manage all public information content such as Annual Report, information brochures and leaflets, and display materials such as banners, etc. to be used for the promotion of events and other fundraising drives
● Manage and coordinate with public relations firms and creative agencies to help with UWS event
● Nurture and maintain good relations with media outlets and journalists
● Create content for press kits, press releases, interviews and keynote presentations
● Provide pertinent communications advice and input for organisational leadership
● Oversee the development of a rich content library including videos, personal stories,statistics, infographics, images and other materials for use in both online and offlinecollateral
● Maintain clear channels of communication within the team and the organisation
Digital Engagement
● Conceptualise digital engagement strategies and create a road map of social media campaigns and goals for the organisation while actively engaging internal and external stakeholders
● Create and drive the digital content over social media and other digital platforms including website to ensure the work of the organisation is adequately promoted / publicised
● Manage website updation and SEO in alignment with the overall digital media strategies
● Work with and guide volunteers on communications projects as needed
● Generate and disseminate periodic reports to show the effectiveness of social media campaigns, along with website activity and other specified metrics, such as newsletter signups etc.
● Update non-static content on the website (Board / staff pages, banners, upcoming events and happenings) and periodic review for updating of static content (campaigns, impact, about us, etc)
● Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices and propose areas for investment and growth in the digital space
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, marketing, public relations or equivalent
- Four (4) + years of experience in the relevant roles including experience leading a marketing and communications-related function
- Thorough knowledge and experience in graphics creation software like Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and HTML (optional) is a must
- Collaborative work style to effectively work on a team of Web and Digital Engagement professionals to deliver high quality digital communications on schedule
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to write press reports and articles for media
- Working knowledge of inbound marketing, including digital media analytics, search engine optimization, as well as advertising and analytics tools, Google AdWords and Google Analytics
- Highly creative and driven imagination. Curious and explorative by nature and be able to think out of the box
- Candidate should know how to use or be willing to learn email marketing platforms and design software
- Experience working with content producers and overseeing and managing digital advertising campaigns
- Knowledge and experience with communicating social justice issues for awareness- building, advocacy, and/or fundraising
