Speech and Drama Specialist
Job Summary:
The Speech and Drama and Debate Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive speech, drama, and debate programs in Singapore schools. The specialist will prepare students for participation in the Singapore Youth Festival competitions and other relevant events, fostering excellence in communication, performance, and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and Implementation:
- Develop and implement a dynamic curriculum for speech and drama and debate.
- Incorporate various techniques and methods suitable for different age groups and skill levels.
- Align the curriculum with the standards and guidelines of the Singapore Youth Festival and other competitions.
Student Preparation for Competitions:
- Train and prepare students for participation in the Singapore Youth Festival and other national or international speech, drama, and debate competitions.
- Conduct workshops, rehearsals, and mock competitions to enhance student performance.
- Provide individualized coaching to students to develop their unique talents and skills.
Performance and Event Coordination:
- Organize school-level events and performances in speech, drama, and debate.
- Coordinate with external organizations for participation in inter-school and national competitions.
- Manage logistics, scheduling, and administrative tasks related to performances and events.
Student Assessment and Feedback:
- Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to address individual student needs.
Professional Development and Collaboration:
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in speech, drama, and debate education.
- Collaborate with teachers, school administration, and external experts to enhance the program.
- Participate in professional development opportunities related to the field.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts, Communication, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching speech, drama, and/or debate.
- Proven track record of preparing students for the Singapore Youth Festival or similar competitions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a dynamic school environment.

Working Conditions:
