About the role

The Telematics Operations Manager reports to the Sr Director Strategy and Services, Container; and is responsible for leading and managing various functions, including logistics, customer service, purchasing, inventory control, device order management, site installation on a global basis.

Your expertise and leadership will ensure seamless operations across various ports and terminal with a focus on delivery speed, inventory Control, cost saving and compliance.

He/she will provide direct support to Program Managers associated with daily tasks required to maintain and manage ongoing temperature monitoring programs. This involves evaluating and maintaining quality databases for customer programs, coordinating activities and processes between departments, communicating with product suppliers or distribution centres, and general program support. It involves participating in a cross-functional team including data management associates, data analysts, project and program managers, supply chain, external and internal Carrier stakeholders, and field installation technicians.

Daily contact with Container Sales Telematics team members is required, in person and by phone and email. There is frequent contact with customers (both internal and external) by phone or email. Interaction includes a wide range of customer types and team members with varied backgrounds and perspectives. Maintaining cold chain data and confirming accuracy in large customer databases is a must. Active participation in a team environment is required.

Key Responsibilities:

As Telematics Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Logistics Management: Oversee end-to-end logistics operations, including device procurement. Fit to work, transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Develop and implement a logistics process that would incorporate existing internal logistics operations, existing 3PL vendor networks, and freight forwarders/shipper vendors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with operations partners to ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations.
  • Customer Service: Develop and implement customer service strategies and initiatives to enhance the customer experience across Carrier Global Telematics region tor customer satisfaction levels and implement improvements as necessary.
  • Vendor Management: Lead the development and execution of effective vendor management strategies, negotiating favourable contracts and building strong relationships with Telematic vendors. Continuously evaluate vendor performance and optimize procurement processes to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
  • Inventory Control: Implement effective SI&OP and inventory control practices, including forecasting, demand planning, and optimization techniques. Implement robust inventory control practices, including accurate demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and effective stock management. Description costs, reduce stock outs, and maintain optimal inventory levels across all locations.
  • Manage and coordinate with government bodies regarding Telematic regulations and compliance.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate operational processes and identify opportunities for optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency gains. Implement best practices and drive process improvement initiatives and streamline workflows. insights to senior management, highlighting operational achievements and challenges.

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations Management is preferred.
  • Proven minimum of 10 years' experience in senior operations management role, has experience in overseeing logistics, customer service, purchasing, inventory control, realty, and facilities management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams.
  • Deep knowledge of supply chain and operations management principles, with the ability to explore best practices, industry trends, and leverage digitalization and technology for supply chain optimization and process enhancement.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach and proficiency in using analytical tools and techniques.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as SAP, ARIBA, and advanced Microsoft Excel, will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate effectively, and proven experience in vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Ability to work, plan & execute multiple engagements in parallel & achieve positive outcomes.
