Job Description
1. Assesses residents within 24 hours of admission.
2. Develops a nursing care plan and carry out nursing care based on care plan.
3. Assists in organising and coordinating activities directed at enhancing the quality of life of residents.
4. Accountable for the residents' personal hygiene, grooming and their activities of daily living.
5. Identifies and initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures.
6. Prepares and maintains proper and accurate clinical documentation.
7. Ensures safe custody and keep proper records for Controlled Drugs and Poisons.
8. Sees to the proper administration of prescribed medications and treatment.
9. Makes professional judgement and decisions in rendering nursing care to the residents according to individual's needs.
10. Supervises the enrolled nurse, nursing aides and healthcare assistants in the delivery of nursing care based on the care plan so as to maintain adequate standard of nursing care.
11. Guides, educates and trains new staff.
12. Co-ordinates with other staff members and update them on changes in the residents' conditions and needs.
13. Co-ordinates with other departments such as housekeeping and maintenance to ensure a safe, clean and properly maintained environment.
14. Evaluates the resident's response to care interventions on a regular basis and recommends revision of care plans as necessary.
15. Keeps abreast with the latest developments in the care of the elderly by reading nursing literature, attending lectures and talks.
16. Do shift duty and be on-call whenever necessary.
17. Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
18. Will oversee the ward matters and to train and guide Staff Nurse.
19. With working experience in nursing home
Requirements
1. Possess a Nitec or Diploma in Nursing or equivalent recognised by Singapore Nursing Board.
2. Candidates should possess good interpersonal / communication leadership skills.
