About the role
As the Senior Supply Chain Manager for the Container business, you will play a key role in ensuring our function accomplishes its stated goals and maintains a comprehensive view of the impact of decisions and connections of efforts across the supply chain for Container. You will partner with cross functional partners and supply chain functions as well as outside partners to execute your supply chain strategies.
- To ensure that sufficient materials are on hand to allow uninterrupted production run to be maintain.
- To ensure that the materials are purchased at the most competitive price and are of highest quality and uninterrupted supply from reliable sources.
- To manage a group of buyers and procurement specialists in purchasing activities for direct materials to support production schedule.
- To ensure the highest degree of Ethics compliance as outlined in the Corporate Manual and meeting the Finance’s requirements.
- To facilitate the Sales, Inventory and Operation Planning and Execution in a SIOP coordinator role.
- Work closely with the leaders for BU, Marketing, Sales, Operation and Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Manager, Supply Chain, you’ll be responsible for:
- Ensure that matters related to Environment, Health and Safety are complied and ensure that Dept. objective is aligned for continuous improvement programs to be in place to meet the Corporate and Local Government standards.
- Ensure that matters related to Quality Management Systems are complied and ensure that Dept. objective is aligned for continuous improvement programs to be in place to meet the Company’s Quality policy, Quality Goals and the Business Metrics.
- Lead the team of Buyers & Planners to ensure the day to operations (e.g. PCA/IPOSA/SOSA implementation, expediting of parts) to meet supply and demand requirements as per the Material Requirement Planning and ensuring minimal / no downtime for Production.
- Ensure the compliance to the Purchasing policy and Finance procedures and maintain the Ethics.
- Lead the Purchasing team to constantly review, analyze the material cost and seek cost reduction opportunities.
- Liaise with Engineering on cost reduction programs – Brainstorm, initiate projects and monitor project performance.
- Review periodically the suppliers’ quality, delivery and financial performance to ensure constant supply and also manage the Long Term Agreements’ with suppliers.
- To manage inventory and ensure a good balance to support customer and production as well as achieving company's inventory turn.
- To analyze excess and obsolete inventory by parts base on their movement and recommending their disposition.
- To drive inventory programs to support lean inventory which help to achieve desired company goal on inventory turns.
- To ensure on time delivery for direct materials to support production with the aim of meeting customer order schedule.
- Guide and motivate the team to apply the Carrier Excellence Tools to seek continuous improvement to be effective and efficient.
- To maintain a good work environment and apply the Carrier Way which foster teamwork, communication and creativity of individuals.
- Establishes key elements of Supply Chain plans in terms of operations, specific interventions, related costs and timelines, in line with organizational strategy.
- Develops new systems and processes in support of Supply Chain strategy. Leads collaboration with channel partners, including suppliers, intermediaries, third party service providers, and customers.
- Directs implementation of large-scale supply chain management related programs and processes; Engages and collaborates with other functions/vendors to support strategic goals.
- Gathers inputs on prices of different raw materials from primary and secondary sources; identifies opportunities for outsourcing and cost reduction and all other related information important to develop the supply chain management strategy.
- Provides inputs on cost saving opportunities; Provides market cost data to formulate the budget for the year.
- Sets frameworks for implementing guidelines on contract development.
- Manages adherence to import, export, and excise regulation as per compliance.
Requirements

As a minimum you must have:
- Degree /Diploma in Engineering discipline and/or Materials Management and Purchasing field.
- At least 8 years’ experience in senior procurement or supply management roles in a manufacturing environment
- A team leader with excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Possesses an excellent grasp of driving fulfillment, inventory management best practices, sourcing methods, and contract negotiations.
- Familiarity with relevant contract laws, regulations, and adherence to ethical standards pertaining to purchasing.
- Effective presentation, communication, and interpersonal abilities to work with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrates strong negotiation skills and the capability to establish and sustain supplier relationships.
- An independent driver that exhibits strong data analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools, such as SAP (MRP), ARIBA, and advanced Microsoft Excel will be an added advantage.
- Places a significant focus on ensuring customer satisfaction, a commitment to continuous improvement, and rigorous compliance with EH&S regulations.
