Job Description
Primary Objective:
Assist the Head of the Section in the management of the funding, liquidity and balance sheet of the Bank, including Islamic Treasury.
Shadow senior dealers in managing daily cashflow and bank books, and look to yield optimal funding mix and a sound balance sheet management.
Ensure the Bank is in compliance with required regulatory requirements on capital, reserves and other liquidity ratios.
Assist with daily reports.
Assist in the operations of the FTP Policy.
Maintain relationship with counterparties in the interbank market
Key Responsibilities:
Funding & Liquidity Management
Assist in the daily operational requirements of the section with particular emphasis on optimizing funding mix to minimize overall funding costs for the Bank
Assist in the daily operational requirements in monitoring the compliance to all Regulatory Requirements on Capital, Reserves & Liquidity; i.e. MAS Notice 649, 640, 758 and etc.
To keep abreast of regulatory requirements including Shariah Banking Laws in support of Islamic Funding requirements.
Any other duties in as prescribed by the Section Head in the daily operations of the section.
Balance Sheet Management & Analytics
To assist Section Head in Balance Sheet analytics and modelling.
To assist Section Head in the optimization of the balance sheet mix to maximize liquidity & interest rates gaps in generating income for the Bank.
Provide feedback & market intelligence to Section Head and senior dealers.
Provide feedback and work with team members on daily operational duties.
Others
To constantly keep abreast of market developments especially new techniques and tools to manage balance sheet and liquidity for the Bank.
To constantly keep abreast of regulatory changes as applicable in the functioning of the section
Qualifications
Formal Education:
Bachelor's degree
Preferred level of Experience (by years/function/industry):
Fresh Graduates or those with 1-2 years of experience in Treasury Markets in a reputable Financial Institution.
Other skills required:
Some knowledge of Money Markets or Financial Markets preferred.
Some knowledge of statutory requirements and Banking regulations would be useful.
Strong mathematical and quantitative background with good working knowledge of IT.
