The National Institute of Education invites suitable applicants for the position of Research Associate on a 18 months contract at the NIE Director’s Office.


Project Title: Examining the construct of future-readiness through the lenses of education leaders and their institutional practices


Project Introduction: This study aims to unpack the construct of ‘future-readiness’ to derive principles and practical implications for educating students in higher education. This study will investigate how international IHL education leaders conceptualise the terminology in their institutional leadership and practice. Their articulation will be referenced against contemporary ideas about the future and preparation for the future beyond the realm of education discourse.


Requirements

  • A Master’s degree from a reputable university in relevant field
  • Relevant research experience
  • Good interpersonal communication and writing skills
  • Expertise in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proactive, willing to learn, reliable and able to manage concurrent tasks in a timely manner
  • Experience with data collection and analysis.
  • Experience with publications an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, managing and executing tasks to achieve project deliverables
  • Conduct literature searches and reviews
  • Collect data through interviews and questionnaires
  • Conduct analysis of qualitative data and summarise research findings
  • Familiar with survey data collection, transcription and management
  • Assist in the development of survey design and participant recruitment
  • Prepare and proofread reports, presentations and papers for publication with minimal supervision
  • Oversee research ethics requirements, including updating and management of IRB documents and data storage
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Principal Investigator
